The two main food distribution sites in Marsh Harbour, Abacos - the Central Abaco Primary School, and New Visions Church are running EXTREMELY LOW to OUT COMPLETELY

PLEASE NOTE this post does not apply to North Abaco or any of the Cays. Ongoing partnerships have those areas covered.

The two main food distribution sites in Marsh Harbour- the Central Abaco Primary School and New Visions Church are running EXTREMELY LOW to OUT COMPLETELY of these items listed below.

Maxwells grocery is scheduled to open soon but the problem is if you haven’t worked in two months, it’s almost impossible to have the money to purchase food. The only jobs foreseeable in the near future are those in heavy construction and trash haulers.

We all know that World Central Kitchen can’t stay forever- we need to do as much as we can to backstock these locations with the items listed below. (I want to add that if you are working and can afford to purchase food at Maxwells or at Big Bird market PLEASE DO SO for the good of your local economy!!!)

So a few things need to happen.

We need to identify ngos and individuals still running freight to Marsh Harbour whether it be by air or sea. Those who are able to get it in duty free are those we should concentrate on. We need to identify those ngo and individuals aid drop off points.

We need to direct aid directly toward those two distribution points.

If you need a an organization so that your aid can come in solicited- contact me on messenger and I’ll give you the name and individuals names who will pick up food and supply pallets on this list at the port and airport.

It’s incredibly important that your aid is palleted, wrapped, and manifested with their name on it -or another ngo or individual who is cleared for pick up at these locations.

We literally need to redirect some effort to ensure that food scarcity does not get even worse in Marsh Harbour.

Below are some pictures taken today -and if you look closely you can tell that a lot of the aid that is currently there is for babies (which is not needed because there are so few babies in Marsh Harbour) or it’s items that are not on this list that people really need.

EVEN BOTTLED WATER IS GETTING SCARCE.
Contact us if you need information on where to pick up filtered water.
